Another CT Challenge

Well, I came across this challenge and the kit was so cute I just had to enter. With me losing all my digital stuff for a while it really forced me to be creative with just the kit given. Kind of fun and I am happy with the result. Go check out Flergs, she has some beautiful stuff on her blog. So here is my entry...tell me what ya think.

The sun is shining!!!!

Man, the sun is out and I am so ready to be out there playing around. The boys are napping but when they wake up we will be enjoying the great outdoors. It has been a dreary week and I am SO ready to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather. Won't be able to enjoy the 60 degree Januarys for much longer. Sniff, sniff.

Still haven't received the package about the relocation. Surprised? No, I am not. This is the slowest company I have ever seen! But they are supposed to be sending us an overview this afternoon. Am I holding my breath until it comes...I'll let you be the judge of that one.

I love Becky Higgins. She is one talented gal and I love everything she comes out with. I went today and picked up this new book she has out. I can't wait to curl up and start diving in. I have been wanting to really do some family history research and have here or there. But this is something that started giving me ideas and stuff so will prompt me to get busy with it again. You know...in all that spare time I have. Ha!

Ooooo....yippee...woo-hoo...

I am doing cartwheels over here. I got my external hard drive back this evening and my Christmas and Birthday photos are there!!!!!!!! I can't begin to tell you how happy I am. So now I going to start the long process of renaming every file and organizing them. I have the shot of the photo with the date in Photoshop Organizer but it is going to take me months to match each photo and rename it. To be honest...I don't care...I am just SO THANKFUL I have the photos. Not sure how many I have recovered but I am just thankful the ones I really wanted were there. He didn't think they were and I spent an hour going through them before I finally came across them. So now I can get back to important things...like playing with my kiddos and doing some scrapbooking. Yippee!!!! It's going to be a wonderful weekend!

All I can say is the gals at Scrapgirls are fantastic! When you purchase something from their boutique (anyone really) you can only download the items for 30 days. Well, I Have a lot of stuff I had bought over the last few months. With the whole external hard drive thing I know I lost most of the stuff I have for my digital scrapbooking. I emailed them today with my plea and they are so fantastic and have set me up to be able to download everything I have purchased from them since the beginning!!!!! What fabulous and understanding gals they are!!!!!!!!!

Dreary Day

It has been cold and rainy here for the most part of a week now and today is no exception. But hey, that is just part of living in lovely southeast Texas.

Still nothing on the hard drive recovery but I am trying to wait patiently. It's going to take a lot of time to try and recreate what was on that thing. But I have already started trying to work up my plan of attack. He, he...

In the mean time I was able to do my first layout for the CT Challenge over at Just for the Scrap if it. It came out okay...think I am still a little rattled by losing all my digital stuff, but I will recover and bounce back.

Hard lesson to learn

So, I have been MIA the last few days because I have been dealing with trying to recover everything on my external hard drive. All of my pictures of the boys, all of my digital scrapbooking files and layouts are on that drive. I haven't backed it up since November I am sure so more than likely almost all of my digital scrapbooking stuff is gone. I am so bummed. The one thing I pray we can recover is the boy's Christmas and birthday photos. I can deal with losing the others...or at least try to deal. But I pray that we can get those because they truly are irreplaceable. So please, learn from my mistakes and if you do not have your precious photos in more than one spot or backed up...go do so right now!

Now why couldn't I have found this blog a week or two ago?????

Girl's Night

Last night was so much fun. We played Bunco with 24 people! I laughed and talked and had such a great time. We used the pool house here in my subdivision and it worked out perfectly. Never thought I would play Bunco with that many people all at once. :)

Today a friend is coming by I haven't seen a long time so it will be fun to catch up and see how things are going with her. We have been friends for something like 12 years and she recently moved about 2 hours from where I live...bummer. But now I have to tell her today we will be moving to Indiana. I still can't believe that one at the moment. I am nervous and excited and just ready to get the details...but more on that after I get the details!

So excited!

I am so excited right now. I decided to bite the bullet and find a scrapbooking site that I was comfortable with and post a digital layout I had done. I can't believe it...they gave me the layout of the week! Go check it out over at Just for the Scrap of it! This was actually the very first digital layout I did and I didn't think anyone would think it was anything special. I am very honored they chose it and it is giving me the boost and confidence I needed right now.

I had inquired somewhere else about how to become a designer some time in the future. If they had any advice on what I needed to do to head in that direction. I got a snooty answer back about how I needed all this experience, yada, yada, yada. I am sorry...I don't believe that. If you have a passion and you put your mind to it having a bunch of schooling doesn't make a hill of beans difference. I have a freaking Master's degree and what does that get me???? I'm a stay at home mom with two beautiful children who loves to scrapbook, loves the computer and is easily self taught on the computer. I don't mind taking classes and things like that to get better but to tell me I basically need a degree in design or something of that nature is crazy. You know...the last time something like this happened I went back the next year and made 1st place in the division I was in. Don't tell me I can't do something....

And as for Just for the Scrap of it...the ladies there are warm and friendly and make me feel at home. I even decided to try for their Creative Team (CT) and will start the challenge for that next week. Nervous but I am going to give it a shot. Glad I came across them a few weeks ago.

Sleepy...

I am so very tired right now but felt I needed to post. So much going through my head right now that I know once I turn off the light I won't be able to fall asleep. Ugh! Hate those days. But more to come on that at a later time.

I did this invitation for a friend of mine today...think it came out kind of cute myself.

Okay, can't think anymore so headed off to try and sleep. Oh...I am going to start doing a weekly scrapbook challenge for a playgroup I joined. I think it's pretty cool and it will motivate me to get some pages done! Now to come up with some ideas. :)

Naps

Why is it that when we want to take a nap there is no way it is possible? Then I have two little guys who just fight their naps like crazy lately. Poor little guys are so tired by the end of the day. I tried the one nap thing in the middle of the day yesterday but how are you supposed to feed them lunch? Man, just when you get in a good routine they go and change it on me! :) But you know...I wouldn't have it any other way.

Been working on some announcements and invitations for people. Have to get one finished today and the other soon as well. Kind of fun doing it but scary for me as well. I am excited about finally putting it out there and hoping for the best.

2008

Wow...it has been a whole month since I posted. I survived the holidays and the boy's first birthday! Both were great (although I could have done without the in-laws here for as long as they were).

Am I a terrible mom if I don't want my guys to walk yet? Noah is so very close and Cameron won't be far behind. I am just not ready! They are my babies and I want to keep them that way for just a little longer.

Noah is starting to say more words. Cameron is just going on and on with babbling as if he is talking away to us. Very cute when they both get to going back and forth. I am sure they understand each other on some level for some strange reason.

So I have really gotten into this digital scrapbooking thing. This was the first page I did a while back. Simple but I like it.
