Motivation

Motivation.  I have been pondering my word for this year.  2011.  What should it be?  I keep going back and forth in my head between a few.  This one is probably my keeper.  Yes, I am a wee bit late getting started for 2011.  See, one more reason I need this as my word for 2011.  Ha!

Been pondering the Project 365 again lately.  Have tried to update the blog a few times but still haven't uploaded photos from my camera so nothing published yet.  Although after doing a few entries last night I started reconsidering my method again.  Seeing as I tended to really only update it once a week (or even every other week for that matter) I am thinking a weekly post of 2 scrap pages may be my method this year.  I came across a great template that sparked some ideas last night.  Hmm...still pondering.  Need some MOTIVATION.  ;)

As I looked at my blog last night I noticed how pitiful my posts were last year.  I mean the number of them, the content probably was as well but hey, I won't go there.  Blogging for such a long time helped me do stuff.  It motivated me (see, that word again).  So I am going to attempt to really jump back into it.  Use it as motivation.  I don't understand why but I am one of those people that has to have something to hold me accountable.  A goal.  A deadline.  No deadline...usually no results.  So, this year I need to create my own deadlines.  My own consequences for if those deadlines are not met.  Hard part is it usually only involves me so in the end does it really matter?  Ugh!  Vicious cycle.  Yuck!

So I am one of those people that feels if it is going to be really cold outside there should at least be snow.  But no, not where I am.  We got ice.  Yucky ice.  Although I will say Noah and I had fun this morning pulling big sheets of it off my car and smashing it on the ground.  That child is fascinated with ice.  And Cameron is with snow.  It's pretty funny to watch them.  It did snow a few weeks ago and Cameron kept eating it.  I think I managed to capture a photo believe it or not.

Project 365 is coming back!

I have to say I have REALLY missed doing the picture a day thing this last year.  I started off great with taking them, printing them out and even putting them in the album.  But then a few months into it everything just went downhill.  And with all the craziness these last 6-8 months, I haven't even taken a picture a week some weeks let alone one a day.  But this time of year as I am getting ready to do our book for the year and other little projects makes me realize just how much I really miss doing it.  It has been so much fun for me to look back on our pictures from the year and spend time just remembering all those happy (or sometimese not so happy) thoughts.  I will be doing this in 2011 and hopefully can at least scrounge together something for this year, although it certainly won't be titles Project 365!

So I have been pondering how to do this on the blog.  Do I do a separate blog like I did before?  Do I pick a day of the week and just kind of make a little collage and post it once a week?  I even thought of making my pages as I go along but then I was afraid I may get behind and not end up doing it.  Hmmm, must ponder some more.

What weekend?

We had the neighbors over last night to watch the football game. Sadly, we lost but hey, we all had fun I think. M and I realized we really haven't entertained since before the kiddos came. We had friends over here or there but no dinners and such like we used to do. It felt kind of nice getting ready for it all and then having everyone come over. The boys were so exhausted from us going to the Children's Museum that morning they went to bed early! Which was actually a blessing because M and I got to enjoy some time with friends instead of chasing kiddos around for a change. Ah...being an adult again.

And speaking of the boys, I really need to start figuring out some new things to feed my kiddos for lunch. I always feel like I feed them the same old things. And they don't eat peanut butter and jelly or any kind of sandwich other than grilled cheese at this point. Any ideas for me to try? I need something kind of quick for the most part or that I can prepare the night before, etc.

I have been keeping up so far with the Picture a Day Project (Project 365 to some). You can check it out here... A Day with Twins - Project 365. I am having fun and I always took a lot of pictures anyway but this is making me stop and think about our day more as I look back through the photos from the day. It is also helping me to download my photos more and really tag them, etc instead of just letting them all pile up. I know I take way too many pictures but I am really trying to delete some that I know will never be printed or used in any way (like the blurry shots I just can't seem to part with). It's all a work in progress though... So I'll leave you with my favorite shot for the weekend. :)

Happy New Year!

Wishing everyone out there a Happy New Year!

I did it. I am taking the plunge and doing the picture a day for 2009. I decided to start a new blog for it since I discovered an awesome place I can download the whole blog to and print it out. How fun! So it will basically be a picture each day and a brief description. Figured that would be best so I am not rambling on like I do here. :) So if you want to start checking it out in a few days, you can here. Just trying to get it up and running at the moment. I need to get my sidebar updated on this blog and then I imagine on the 2nd I will start posting over there. I am so excited!

Won't have time tonight to get photos downloaded and pick on, post, etc so will do tomorrow. But we had a fun evening with neighbors and it was worth not downloading photos. :) Hope you all had a fabulous New Year's Day!
