Just another day...

Nothing special today. We went to Kindermusik and played in the yard. Other than that it was just daily routine stuff. It was a fun day though...although I have done something to my back and it's really hard to bend over. Really hope that is gone by tomorrow because it's kind of difficult to pick up the boys!

Finished up a layout. Woo-hoo!

I have to say Peekaboo is one of the favorites still in our house. It is usually a good way to get them to calm down if they are mad when changing the diaper. :) Good old stand by!

I am so excited! A week from tomorrow and I will be headed to my first scrapbook convention! Woo-hoo! And I get to meet my super cool bestest friend Cathy too! Can't wait...although I admit I am a wee bit nervous about leaving the boys for the first time. They will be in good hands with Daddy and Nana but still...this will be my first time ever being gone overnight! I will be fine, I will be fine, I will be fine. At least they are keeping us super busy so that will help!

Wow...Saturday is already gone. Quick day and I can't say we did anything special because we didn't. The boys took a very LONG nap. Neither of them slept well last night which means neither did I. They didn't really require my attention but every time they wake up I wake up. It was almost like they were just making enough noise to wake me up and then they would go back to sleep. Hmm...they plotted against me or something so I would go to bed early tonight. . :)

I did go to a scrapping think at the church we are looking at going to. It was just me and another gal but I got an entire layout done!

Credits: Back 2 School by MCA Designs and the brush was Fall Foliage by Jason.

Then the scrapping gods must have had some mercy on me or something because when I saw this cute little kit today I just threw this page together. I was amazed at how fast it just came together! Loving the robots!

Credits: Kit was My Robot, title is from Boy Say What and staples are from Cool Like That all by Colie's Corner.

Only a week and a half to go and I get to go to a scrapbooking convention! It will be the first time I leave the boys overnight so I am a little nervous but I know they will be fine so i am determined to enjoy myself. Not to mention they have a jam packed schedule so I am going to stay super busy!

Cameron is really starting to say his words very clearly now. The few he doesn't I haven't been able to figure out until today! He has been saying what sounded like "Ta-bow" for the last month at least. He has been saying it a lot the last few weeks. I finally figures out today he is saying "window!" I couldn't believe it! They are also starting to sign things as well. He just out of the blue one day starting doing the sign for "eat" when it was almost dinner time. I was shocked and at first thought I was just being a proud mommy. But no, he does that and drink (although they can say that), milk, and few others. Floored me! I had done the signs with them when they were really little but haven't really done them lately. Funny what those little brains remember!

Friday night...

And I just got finished watching the Presidential debate...I am such a homebody! I did go and scrap tonight. Got 2 things almost finished but have to sleep on it and go back tomorrow and see if I still like the way they look. Not the norm for me but we'll see.

I got my photobook finished and ordered! Woo-hoo! I didn't think I was going to make it but I did. Pat on the back for me. My boys will LOVE looking at it I am sure. I had made one of their first 3 months way back and they love to look at it and can point to all the different people that are in it. So very cute to me. And here are a few more of the pages...

And I must apologize that I did not take the time to note all the different papers and elements I was using. In the interested of time I was just trying to crank the thing out. Please forgive me but if there is a paper or something you are particularly interested in let me know and I will look up which one it was...I promise! But to go back and document 24 different papers and 24 elements just isn't in me right now. Sorry!

I'm finally getting my hair cut tomorrow. It has only been like 3 months since I last got it cut. I am so missing a regular haircut! And having a regular stylist for that matter! Hopefully this girl will be good and I will not have to look anymore. The debate now is do I color it or just leave it alone? I am getting some major gray there. I hate how wiry my gray hair is compared to my regular hair. Hmm...and I thought I was going to grow old gracefully...

I still think...

I have the best little buds on the planet! I still think my little guys are the best babies in the world. :) They just always crack me up even on those days (like yesterday) where they just plain wear me out.

Noah officially had a cold. He was pretty miserable the last two days and yesterday was fun between him being sick and Cameron trying out his new found tantrum tactics. I don't know if he learned this new screeching thing when he doesn't get his way from another child or what. Last night he screamed so hard he turned red! All I did was move him from Noah's crib to his so I could change the sheets on Noah's bed. What was up with that?!!?!??! Since M is out of town I needed to be able to still keep an eye on them and put them both in the same crib to play while I changed the sheets. Mind you this was just after bath time so they were worn out and stumbling and I didn't want them to get hurt.

So he proceeded to do much the same this morning when I was getting him dressed. Not sure what is going on there but this screaming and fit throwing I pray is not a sign of things to come...it was BAD. He kicks and screams and turns red and the vein on his neck even pops out. What do you do when that happens??????

On a side...they are playing happy as little clams this morning.

I have been working on a book for the boys from the time they were born until now. Been feeling guilty since I haven't really done anything like that yet for them. Have done it for other people but not yet for them. Sigh. So mommy guilt finally kicked in and I have just today to finish up their book to take advantage of my free 20 page Shutterfly book. Push, push, push. Only have a few more pages to go so hopefully can get it done tonight after the boys go to bed. :) Here's a page or two from it so far...

First day of Fall...

Today is the first day of fall. Wow...I can't believe it is already that time of the year. I think this is my favorite time of the year. I love the Spring too but the colors of the fall just make me so happy. I love the crisp air and the feeling of Fall for some reason. And to live somewhere that is going to be exploding with color soon this year is an added bonus. :)

And as promised here are a few shots from the zoo the other day. I was surprised at how few I actually took! I need to go back then and fix that problem I guess.

I am afraid my little guys may be getting the cold that I had and then Mike had. To be honest I am surprised it has taken 2 weeks for it to happen. I just hate to hear the little guys coughing! Oh...I need to go and put the vaporizer in their room, just thought of that. Don't know why I didn't before...silly me.

Hope you all have a great week!

What a nice weekend...

Still hard for me to believe it is Sunday night but we had such a nice weekend. It felt "normal" for a change. Oh my...haven't had one of those in months and months! We went to the zoo Saturday morning and the boys really seemed to enjoy it. The cool thing about the zoo here is it isn't that big. You can do the whole thing in just a couple of hours if you are just kind of looking and not stopping too very much. The boys were so tuckered they fell asleep in the car almost immediately after we left! I'll share some photos later from our adventure.

My friend Mel of MCA Designs is opening her own store! I love her designs and have used them for a lot of things so far with many more projects in mind. Go over and check out what she has cooking up...you won't be disappointed (like 25 cent items;)!!!!

And of course you can't have a grand opening without a fabulous freebie! So go here and pick up these adorable felt leaves...in the perfect fall colors for the upcoming weather!

So it started out innocently enough. I have decided it is time to just let them boys learn to eat with utensils. They will mind you...just find it faster to use their hands. We have yet to do a "soupy" type item and after seeing my friend Cathy's layout of her cutie feeding herself two fisted I had to give it a go. They had a ball...I had to try and keep myself from laughing in front of them so as not to encourage them to do silly things. It was too funny!

This....

Turned into this...

And this....

You just gotta love 'em!

Friday chatter...

Wow, where do the days go? I feel like the week just started and it is already Friday. Not a bad thing but man the times just seems to keep going faster and faster. My little guys are growing up and I can't seem to slow it down.

I am in the third week of my photography class and of course am still on week one's lesson! Eeekkk!!!! I so have to spend some time this weekend working on things. I HATE being behind right off the bat. Things just got so busy and of course that is something I really need to actually stop and focus on so it gets pushed aside. Sigh. I WILL spend some time today or this weekend just taking pictures and learning. I did take this cool one of the moon the other night so it's at least a start. :) I will say I never thought I would be able to take a photo of the moon that you could actually see the details of the moon itself. It just amazes me.

I actually made it on to round 3 over at Go Digital Scrapbooking. I have to admit I was surprised but happy. I never have enough confidence in my own work so this has boosted that a wee bit and hopefully will help me to break out of my shell a little more. I want to do so many new things and just seem to lack the confidence to do a lot. Not good at rejection but then again who is?

So...off to work on a layout for the contest and hopefully get some pictures taken while the boys are at "school." ;)

Tidbits for the day...

I did hear from my friend in TX that I had been so worried about. They are all okay thankfully! Their house...not so much so. They had a big oak tree fall on it. But they are okay so I am thankful and I know they are too. They are such awesome people and still know how to make the most of a bad situation. I think everyone could follow their lead. She texts me that they are getting to know their neighbors (everyone is without power) and they had a freezer BBQ last night. How funny is that? I do admire her so...

I was checking out Jessica Sprague's blog as I often do and came across the coolest thing. I have read about doing this before and even thought of doing it but for some reason this particular post got my attention and now I am going to have to do it myself. :) Working on this tonight and one other layout.

And speaking of layouts...I am in the second round for the Go Digital Scrapbooking Supreme Team.

I find out tonight if I made it on or not but this was my layout for my submission this week. Of course I loved it so chances are I will not make it on to the next round. He, he. The reason I say that is last week I was not happy with my layout and I made it on. Always got to keep that sense of humor, eh?

So earlier Cameron was playing and I saw he was obviously hot and asked him if he was hot baby. Meaning are you hot. Now they are walking around saying "hot baby" all the time. Ha! I am going to laugh if we are out in public and some girl walks by and they say that. Ahhh....the joys of having boys and the bad things mommy teaches them. :)

Still waiting...

So I have talked to all my friends and family from down in TX except one. I am worried about them but trying to be realistic. If they have no power then they have no phone. Trying to be practical. So Cathy just know I am thinking of you guys and praying you are all okay.

Friday, September 12, 2008

Wow...what an amazing day. Days like today make me so thankful for family and friends. My family and friends are getting ready to face Ike as I am typing this. My heart and prayers go out to all of them. M and I have stated several times this hurricane season how happy we are not to be living there at this point in time but I still can't help but worry about those that do. I pray my friends and family remain safe and have homes to return to when this terrible storm passes.

We did it!

The boys went today for the first time to the Parent's Day Out program! The teachers told me they did fantastic! No crying at all from either. And I didn't stay too long this morning when I dropped them off. I did feel lost without the little guys all day and didn't know what to do with myself. I ran errands and checked out some things I have been needing to do. All in all...a good day!

My little guys all ready to go this morning...still looking a little sleepy. :)

And this one is them walking up to the building. They were so freaking adorable with their little rolly backpacks!

When we got home I ask then if they had fun today. This was Noah's reaction. :)

And Cameron's...

And these were the little gifts they brought the teachers. I also made some cute little matching tags for their bags and stuff I will share later.

As we were leaving, the director of the program was helping me out with the kiddos and she told me not to be disappointed if when we come on Friday or next week they don't do as well. I am guessing they had a banner day or something because I was thrilled they made it the entire time! Even if they don't make it the whole time on Friday this was a MAJOR accomplishment for us. Probably me even more than them! He, he. :)

Tuesday, September 9, 2008

Keeping my fingers crossed we actually get to start with the Parent's Day Out program tomorrow. Cameron was sneezing earlier today. If we don't get to then we don't get to. I will try again next week...but I really would like to try tomorrow. :)

I was able to do a layout tonight. Woo-hoo! Simple but I am working on the first page. This will be page 2. I did it for a challenge over at Gotta Pixel.

I am amazed at how much the boys are starting to talk. I am happy at how much the boys are starting to talk. I was actually getting a little worried. But these last few weeks their vocabulary has really picked up and they are really starting to put things together.

Their grandparents left yesterday afternoon and all day today Cameron kept saying "Paw-Paw." I felt bad having to tell him they had gone home! We had gotten their baths and ready for bed and were going down the stairs and Cameron was asking for Paw-Paw. He knew Paw-Paw had been waiting for him each time downstairs. Made me sad! So Paw-Paw, know that you and Nana are missed! Cameron also asked for Daddy this evening as well. Guess M is going to have to start talking to them on the phone or something because they are starting to understand when he is gone.

I will say they did the cutest thing ever today and my camera was no where in sight! Noah had laid down on the carpet on his blanket and Cameron came over and laid next to him for a minute and then he leaned over and laid on Noah's back and just snuggled. It made my heart melt. Where was the camera when I need it!?!?!?!?!?!? But I will always have the sweet memory of the two of them doing that.

We are going to try it...

We found out on Friday that two spots opened up in the Parent's Day Out program I had tried to get the boys into (another twin mom dropped out). I went this morning with the boys to check it out and see what I need to get for them, etc to bring. You know, I wasn't nervous yesterday but am today now. What's up with that? The boys had a good time and Cameron didn't even want to leave after the 40 minutes or so we had been there. I guess it wasn't what I expected but I am sure they will be just fine. I HAVE to do this. I WILL do this. Just as much for them as for myself. Hmm...check back with me tomorrow and see how I am holding up...

Happy Granparents Day!

Happy Grandparents Day to all the grandparents out there. I don't buy into all the commercial stuff out there but I do think that grandparents need a special day too. :) This was the cover of the little book I put together for M's parents. I will have to share some of the other pages I did later on...need to put them into 2 page layouts since there are so many of them.

I was very happy with how the whole project turned out but I will say I learned when something says it takes a night don't listen. If I had everything picked out and ready to go yes, the assembly would have. But doing it all my project that was supposed to take a night took me almost an entire week to do! But the end result was so worth it. :)

Still have one more project to finish up by tonight or tomorrow... I need to take a look at the deadline. This was one busy week for deadlines for me. :) Hope everyone has a fantastic day!!!!

What a full day!

OMG is the only words that come to mind right now. We had such a full day of fun. We went and picked apples this morning and the boys were adorable as usual. Cameron ate an apple right off the tree! Noah carried one in each hand around until the cider came out...then they went to the floor...he wanted a drink. :)

While we were out picking apples M called and asked if I thought the boys could make it to the circus that night...it didn't start until 7:30 which is usually the latest they go to bed. I said what the heck, if they don't like it we can turn around and come home. We had the most awesome seats to the circus ever! A person M's dad knows asked if we would be interested in having tickets to their box and we had the best time ever. The boys made it to intermission, which was 9pm! They were so funny. I took over 200 pictures today so needless to say I did not have time tonight to upload them to my computer. Will do soon though. Two posts without photos...gasp.

I signed up for a digital photography class. I am so excited I can hardly stand it. It actually started yesterday so I am already behind. But will hopefully spend some time over the weekend being able to catch up on it. The first assignment isn't due for a week and a half so I am okay I think. I signed up for the longer class so I will have more time to get the assignments done. :) I am really looking forward to learning some good basics about both taking photos and my camera.

Another busy week

Outside of the normal stuff that gos on this has been a strangely busy week. I guess because I have a few computer projects I am working on so that seems to be sucking up all my "free" time. But most will be finished by Friday so I will resume life as usual. :)

We are going to have some fun the rest of the week each day. Tomorrow is apple picking! I have never picked apples in my life. For a mere $3 per child they get to pick 1/2 peck of apples and get a cup of cider as well. So for people like me who have no idea how many apples are in a peck...I think I read it was like 32 small apples. Um...what and I going to do with a peck of apples? Guess I will be making some apple sauce this week. :) We are also headed to the zoo and museum this week so will have lots of pictures to share I am sure!

We FINALLY got some much needed rain. I know my family down in Texas is not thrilled about the rain and evacuation they just had to do but we are desperately in need here. But my family is all safe and were not too effected by Gustav so I am thankful.

Okay, back to work!
